The Associate Officials Coordinator is responsible for gathering the names of boys interested in becoming an Associate Official in the fall timeframe. These boys must then be nominated by the NSYLA Board before they are accepted into the AO Class.
The AO's (typically High School age boys) take the Referree Class and test in the January/February timeframe. Once they pass they must register on the Easter Mass Lacrosse Officials Association website as EMLOA Ref's.
The AO Coordinator then works with the schedule to place the AO's into the game schedule for their three required Mentor games (they must pass three games with a senior Mentor Referee to then become certified). The AO Coordinator then makes sure that all AO's are in the schedule properly and have an equivalent number of games.
