Notification from: Public Schools of Northborough & Southborough January 5, 2011 Dear Parents and/or Guardians: I am pleased to announce that the Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plans for the Northborough Public Schools, for the Southborough Public Schools, and for the Northborough-Southborough Regional School District have been submitted to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). All school districts were required to submit their plans to the DESE no later than December 31, 2010. We are also required to review and update our plans at least biennially, as mandated by M.G.L. c. 71, § 37O sec. 5 (d), § 15. The December 31 submission deadline was certainly important, but it was not an end in itself. We intend to have these plans serve as living documents. New challenges, ideas, and solutions will emerge over time, so it is important that we receive feedback on our bullying prevention efforts. We are all in this together and we look forward to working together with parents, students, community members, and all staff to create and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment for all students. Please visit our website at nsboro.k12.ma.us to view the individual district plans and to provide any feedback.
